“As an American citizen, it is tough on my part to pay tax dollars to an entity that can turn around and use those tax dollars to get my fellow American citizens to not do business with me,”
That’s a Texas Toyota dealer who is also the head of the Toyota National Dealer Council blowing his top over the Mafia tactics being and tax dollars being used on behalf of the Nationalized General Motors to hammer Toyota and destroy tens of thousands of US based jobs with that company and its suppliers.
Among Paul Atkinson’s charges against the Obama Administration and it’s 60% subsidiary General Motors:
- The government is blowing the Toyota recall out of proportion “There is a list of twenty manufacturers on these recall lists, and Toyota is number 17…If we’re having hearings on number 17, what are they doing about numbers 1 through 16?”
- The majority government owned GM is using deceptive mailings to consumers “There are some mailing lists which have been given to dealers, and there have been some mailers…On the outside of the envelope it says ‘important Toyota recall information enclosed. But when you open up that envelope, it is nothing more than an advertisement trying to get you to come trade your Toyota in at a GM store.”
By all accounts this is the first shot being fired in what promises to be an aggressive campaign to defend the brand against the smears coming from GMs management at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Funny… you defend a foreign auto company. A car company that has killed Americans through its failure to maintain quality control. What kind of car do you own, Mark Williams?
Let us, the public, know where you actually stand instead of criticizing.
A 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse, built in Normal, ILL in a UAW shop. White, black interior, convertable (GS package). Low miles (under 58,000 but just had its 60,000 mile service, new brakes & new tires).
I bought my USA, union built car brand new at the old Sacramento Mitsubushi (now out in Roseville). What do you drive and who made money building it?
