Lincoln (CA) Elementary School kids Salute Veterans

Twelve Bridges Elementary School Students (Western Placer Unified School District) gathered in assembly to honor Amrica’s Veterans this morning (11/10).  A number of veterans of several wars were in attendance to be honored.

The student body was assembled in the Gymnasium / Cafeteria where they viewed an amazingly patriotic and upbeat tribute to veterans - including Iraqi & Afghan war vets, a tribute to America narrated by John Wayne and were led in a chorus of “America the Beautiful” by Vice Principal and Music Instructor John Kovach.

After the assembly the attending veterans retired to the various class rooms with the students to answer questions and tell their stories.

The school is down the street from us and Ms Linda the crossing guard and the kids going to school are favorites of Casey the Pound Dog on her walks.  Ms Linda told us about the event so I went home, got my camera and grabbed a few shots for this site and the Sacramento Union.   Sacramento TV 10 News was there as well to shoot some B Roll so we will all get to read and see something positive from one of our schools for a change!

Bravo to the 12BE kids and staff, and God Bless and protect our Veterans.  Be sure to thank and shake a veteran’s hand!
