Voters begin to notice Barack Obama’s empty suit
Early on polls reflect nothing more than name recognition, that’s why Hillary was the front-runner for so long.
Along the way the polls begin to shift from name recognition to a popularity contest. Obama, as a new and trendy shiny object with a celebrity flair and cultivated Camelot aura proved to be a natural draw for that phase of polling.
Now we are at the point where the polls reflect what voters are actually thinking about doing with their vote as opposed to which candidate’s name they recognize or which one they think is the coolest celebrity. That means Obama’s utter lack of substance and total focus on image won’t fly as a reason to vote for him and it’s beginning to show signs of hurting him.
