Albany Mayor Jerry Jennings responds with blast at honest cops
He appeared on Rensselaer (NY) radio station WGDJ to discuss…. wait for it….. potholes and the NY Giants. Two calls about the police did manage to get through his phone screener however and he responded dripping with arrogance and in a condescending tone that barely masked his disdain for the public.
In the first call he fired a verbal cannon at those honest officers and former officers who are dropping dimes on his corrupt administration, and leaving no doubt where he stands in terms of addressing the department’s problems.
In the second call a former NYC PD reported an allegation of abusive treatment at the hands of an APD cop currently under indictment. The caller indicated that he had maintained records and evidence. Instead of telling the man how to access Internal Affairs or the Civilian Review Board Jennings instructed the man to send the mateiral to him (the Mayor). Hizzoner will doubtlessly maintain that he did that to make sure the case is properly attended to… MarkTalk suspects that “properly buried” would be a more accurate description, and reflective of the many stories we have been hearing of victims of police abuse being dissuaded from making formal complaints through channels. Indeed, the caller specifically points out to the mayor that witnesses were talked out of being witnesses by Albany PD investigators.

Mark, keep at this exposure of Jennings at ALL costs—do NOT let the management of the station be bullied by this thug for any reason, or cave in to any \”threats\”—PLEASE—your show is the ONLY hope for the City of Albany–keep on a track of exposure—there is an UNBELIEVEABLE amount still to come–this man MUST be removed from office and not run another term—Your show and station can be greatly instrumental in doing so—he has hurt hundreds of good, decent people, and his thuggery and immoral tenure must end—and can only do so if those such as yourself drag everything out in the open.
