New York Governor Eliot Spitzer rode into Albany as a champion of the working stiff.   As state attorney general he rose to face down corporate greed and corruption.  Spitzer used the powers of his office to make multi-national, nation-less corporations bend to the benefit of the little guy.

His first major act as governor was to abandon that ruse and go to work for those same corporations, and the human traffickers from whom they buy and lease illegal aliens.   Just last week he turned New York State driver’s licenses into welcome mats for terrorists by announcing that anybody in the world who wants one can have one….no citizenship required, no legal status required, and - as this story has been reported so far - not even proof of idenity.

Today the quirky but insightful New York Sun, making note of the 3/4 of New Yorkers who oppose Spitzer’s treachery, runs Governor Spitzer’s political obituary.
