Doolittle: It’s MY office, not the people’s

It’s not about public service, it’s not about country or even right versus wrong… it’s all about John.

In Congressman John Doolittle’s mind he is the center of the universe.  Did we expect anything other than this  from a dweeb who refused to show any emotion at all… much less anger or defend even his own family in the face of political and legal onslaught?  Did we expect anything else from a guy who has spent 3-decades gaming the system to his own benefit?   Do we need further proof that, while not proven guilty of any crime, Doolittle nonetheless is void of whatever character and honor he may have once had?

I actually did.  Not in my wildest dreams did I ever think that Doolittle had whatever personality trait that causes men in power to resort to spider-holes in the desert,  a bunker, or guarded palace, when confronted with the consequences of their own abuses, or having simply been rendered disposable by the march of time and circumstance.

I have never thought the man to be corrupt, immoral or guilty of anything other than aloofness (perhaps bordering on arrogance), and maybe looking creepily similar to Mister Wilson from Dennis the Menace.   With my political pedigree being Boston City Hall, the Massachusetts Congressional Delegation and such as my first beat,  the congressman’s appetite at the pig trough has never been such a big deal for me.

If John Doolittle carries through with his threat to see Charlie Brown elected in his place then he will have erased any good at all he may have accomplished.   The big gash in the American River that marks Doolittle’s Melvillian quest for the Auburn Dam should remain as is, and be appropriately renamed in honor of its representation of his massive failure to represent us.  Perhaps with a bronze figure of Doolittle handing the keys to his congressional office to Cindy Sheehan.

Ego is a wonderful thing, when it is channeled constructively.   When ego supersedes all else; God, Nation, family and friends it ceases to be a good thing and becomes destructive.

Word has filtered back to me that Doolittle has an “enemies list” (sound familiar kids? - and that I’m on it) to go along with his increasing paranoia and isolation.  I am also told that Doolittle will follow the same line as in the linked story, and that his primary campaign will be a scorched earth blitzkrieg and that he fully intends to destroy what little is left of the GOP in the California 4th.

MarkTalk can hear the ball-bearings clinking in Commander Queeg’s hand.

Aaaaaaaa, so now we have a ‘ scoundrel ‘ calling Mr Egland, a ‘ weasal ‘.
    Well, that’s to be expected.
What else is there to think…..I however, am GOING to blow my own horn on this one, because CONTRARY to some people’s poplular belief ( die-hard political hacks ) ….I’ve already stated what needs to happen to doolittle.

He’ll never step down WILLINGLY. Why should he? He’s a firm believer that he was ANNOINTED to his seat in Congress…..screw you, the party, the people, everyone.
It’s doolittle or nothing. If he can’t win it, if he can’t have it? Then no one will.

IT”S ELECTED TO OFFICE mr doolittle, NOT ANNOINTED.

I’ve stated this time and again, and will continue to harp/press/imply/suggest/urge/mandate that this mantra be picked up against mr doolittle.

    ELECTED TOO OFFICE…….

Egland?? I know what he’s NOT about, unlike mr doolittle, who more and more is showing us what he IS about.

Embarrassing?? You bet…..for with each passing week, he gives me far more credit than I deserve, in describing WHY this man needs to go.
    Thank you much.

As for ‘ backstabbing Republicans ‘??? Who’s backstabbed who?
RHINO”s getting their just deserts?? Or those of us who have/were sold out for being HONEST conservatives, and ASKING for decent change/candidates/options to choose from???

Okay…..asking time is over. You ASKED for the roll call?? You’ve got it.
I guess, you people weren’t smart enough to see the light, during the last election, and possibly feel WE THE PUBLIC are still stupid to your ways…..oh well.

Round two of the Republican bloodbath is about to happen…………..

I must admit I was a little taken aback at your headline for this piece but the more I thought about it the madder I got, at Doolittle. Your tone is harsh but you are right. John has abandoned everything he once stood for and is willing to see Charlie Brown take this district.

This is the exact kind of thing that the republicans have been doing to us in California since at least Pete Wilson. That is why they are powerless to do anything more than hold up the state budget until the democrats throw a few crumbs at them.

I do not know who should replace Doolittle. It was my hope that he would go quietly and accept our thanks so I guess now I must prepare myself for a very dirty primary, followed by the swearing in ceremony for Charlie Brown
