12:26 PM Pacific: KTUU TV 2/Anchorage is reporting the following:
Gov. Sarah Palin will resign her office in a few weeks, she said during a news conference at her Wasilla home Friday morning.
Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell will be inaugurated at the Governor’s Picnic at Pioneer Park in Fairbanks on Saturday, July 25, Palin said.
There was no immediate word as to why she will resign, though speculation has been rampant that the former vice presidential candidate is gearing up for a run at the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.
Something is brewing here.
Fox News is reporting that the entire Alaska DC delegation and state legislature were stunned, that she met with US Senator Mark Begich in his Anchorage office Wednesday and never mentioned this.
She made this announcement in a place so remote that nobody could even get a satellite truck in, in the middle of the first day of a 4-day holiday weekend. That is a recipe for burying a story, that’s the kind of timing for an announcement that you are the Lindbergh Baby kidnapper.
On the other hand, she may be crazy like a fox… she now has opportunity to dodge the consequences of local resentment (at her national profile), write her book and speak in the lower 48 (to define herself beyond the sound bites) and reinforce her bona fides as a solid family values anti-politician politician.

Sounding for all the world like a presidential candidate and with goats bleating in the background a nervous Sarah Palin emphasized her love of Alaska, her trimming of her office’s perks and energy riches under Alaskans feet that she says should be exploited. She praised the work ethic and decried the “heavy hand” of Federal policy.
She fell into a comfortable groove when she came out swinging against the mainstream media and its obsession on minutia that winds up costing taxpayers money.
“You can choose from things that tear down or build up, I choose to not tear down and waste precious time.” “Life is too short to compromise time and resources”. She said that “dead fish go with the flow” and that she is stepping down to “fight for the country” “strong national security” “free enterprise” “energy independence” “freedom and equality”

The consummate image of the self-serving users who surrounded the late “King of Pop” Michael Jackson’s life and death was his father, serial abuser Joe Jackson.
With a line of moving vans behind him clearing out Jacko’s rented home, the elder Jackson was being interviewed by one of the throngs of television vultures in attendance. Sporting his ever present grin, the one that falls just a few notches short of virulent, ole’ Joe took the opportunity to introduce a man with him and turn the moment into a promotional announcement for a new record company that the two men had just formed.
Make no mistake, that Michael Jackson is dead is tragic… the way he died is tragic, the way he lived however is a different story entirely.
The man being celebrated by distraught fans was the ultimate product of the amoral Bread and Circuses celebration of narcissistic cases of arrested development and self-indulgence we call “celebrities.” Touted as a “role model” for children, in reality he was a man void of all morals whose chief occupation was the exploitation of children for his twisted personal pleasure.
There was a time in our society when “celebrity” came as a result of some sort of contribution; whether that be artistic, athletic, or perhaps a demonstration of political or personal courage.
Today we confer the celebrity label on self-destructive train wrecks and people who in a previous time would have been a mark of family shame. Today these mental and emotional freaks are exploited for family and posse riches. Rather than avert our eyes and feel their shame, we instead indulge our darkest voyeuristic tendencies and obsess over each drunken stumble or mental collapse of the Lindsey Lohans and Brittany Spearses whose sole contribution to the world is keeping paparazzi flush with work.
Michael Jackson was in a class of his own, and I don’t mean artistically.
Beaten, indulged and enabled he was a talented young black boy who died a pathetic, white, sexual freak infamous for exploiting the children of those parents greedy enough to rent their kids out to the Jesus Juice Bar at Neverland.
After buying his way out of a bust involving the young boy of a dentist, Michael switched to a safer route and decided that buying little kids was a whole lot safer than his pay as you go plan. That is when he found Debbie Rowe, a strange woman who was only too happy to sell him a couple of little white kids who may or may not have been birthed by her. That Jackson was the father is a genetic improbability. No matter how much he bleached his own skin, his chromosomes spell b-l-a-c-k.
Somehow, this man who spent his adulthood trying to deny his racial heritage is being celebrated as a hero by those from whom he tried to disassociate. Daddy Dearest used the Black Entertainment Awards to elaborate on his new ventures (complete with big grin on his face) and black entertainer after black entertainer praised the loathsome man being autopsied as they sang and danced his praises.
Anyone who viewed the spectacle may be excused for questioning the family values of Black Americans as a result.
Those who are flooding out of the woodwork like so many roaches to bask in Jocko’s aura are well know exploiters. Joe Jackson, Al Sharpton, Jessie Jackson, and others thrive on the droppings of tortured souls like so many dung beetles. Jocko earned hundreds of millions of dollars alive, that was nothing compared to what he is worth now.
Frankly, I will be surprised if they do not put him on permanent display someplace the same way that he kept the corpse of the Elephant Man around the house for kicks and giggles.
Sadly, the monster who was Michael Jackson will go down in history as an artistic touchstone and not the symbol of depravity that he was. However, I suspect that the people vying for the rights to monetize his corpse will take the definition of depravity to depths never before seen in modern society.

Read that again, closely this time. The “terrorists” Bass accuses are in fact Americans simply exercising their Creator Endowed Right to think for themselves and act accordingly, including deciding for themselves for whom to vote (or) and for whatever reason.
Bass then portrays as “terrorism” the act of Americans exercising their Rights!
